Thanks for sharing Mike. Wanted to watch it last night, but it had not premiered yet when I was on their site.

They also shot a Windy Hill Predator .410 load (has forty pellets of #2 TSS in that load) on there a bit back and had 38 of them in a good group at 40 yards. Knowing that the TSS #9's will AT LEAST match the Longbeard XR's #4's at 45 yards in penetration, one can only imagine what that .410 #2 TSS load will do to what it hits way beyond 45 yards.

Anyone ever noticed a field tipped arrow penetrates gel farther than a broadhead lol?

The gel penetration only proves a smaller projectile penetrates farther in gel, we should already know this.

King Cobra

Interesting... Thanks for taking the time to do the test
Thanks to all who share this great passion and the wealth of knowledge you bring to this board.

Thank you for taking the time to test this especially considering the heat.

The Longbeard 4s would have killed the bird Dead at that distance.

But I can definitely see that TSS would have killed him deader.

This test was done by Blue Collar Outdoors. They have tested dozens of TSS and choke combinations along with tests like this.

A smaller projectile with far less KE pentetrates better than a big projectile with more KE.....therefor you can put many more of the smaller, lighter projectiles in the shell.
Sounds like exactly the reason TSS works so well.

Do you think a #9 lead or steel would penetrate as deeply as a #4 lead?
Would #12 tss penetrate as deeply as #2 lead?
Does smaller always penetrate deeper? No, but we should already know this.
