Your calls will be covered under the contents, or unscheduled personal property, portion of your homeowners policy.  I am not aware of any limitations on turkey calls like there is on cash, guns, etc.  You should be covered up to your contents limit.  Getting what they are worth will be dependant on the quality and amount of supporting evidence you can provide to establish their value.  Of course, to be covered, they must have been lost due to a covered peril.  Read your policy.

I am an insurance adjuster with over 31 years experience.

I think if you're worried enough about your collection to consider them collectibles then they would need to be listed specifically on your policy or have a rider for your collection. I think contents may cover original purchase price on some of these, but when they appreciate in value I think you would be SOL in the event you need your insurance.

Most homeowners policies are going to cover an item for replacement cost, not original purchase price.

You can buy a stated-value auto policy.  If you have a total loss, you get the stated value regardless of the actual value.  There may be some type of similar policy you can get to do that for your collection.  I'm not aware of one, though.

The important thing, in addition to having documentation to prove ownership and value, is to make sure your contents coverage is adequate.  If it's inadequate and your house burns down, it would be tough deciding if you are going replace your kid's bed or your rare trumpet call.

My worries are if you have a call that is not replaceable. And also your last part on the contents coverage. The wife is really going to give you a hard time about your collection if it comes down to your calls or the furniture. I'm thinking right alongside you for the most part.
Looking to buy Allen Dunfee scratch boxes.

Irreplacable items is an issue.  Not much anyone can do about that.

You have to list and describe everything and take pictures. From what I understand you are payed the market value of the items at the time of loss, not what you paid. Up to the limit of your policy of course.
