A little off the turkey hunting theme, but I always wanted to shoot a turkey with a muzzle loader. I just never found the time or it wasnt a priority. I found a spectacular muzzle loader locally made and it is ridiculously accurate and easy to use. Never needs cleaning if you use Blackhorn 209 powder. The .45 caliber is smokeless powder compatible and the people are awesome. If you are interested in a great muzzle loader then check them out. It is " Woodman Arms Patriot Rifle" I ordered mine immediately after they gave me a tour of the facility and we talked or over an hour. I had previously shot on my buddies and was impressed. There is a wait as with all quality small company products but I think it will be worth it. And I am not a paid or compensated for my opinions, lol. I just see an opportunity to promote a good locally made product to a great bunch of people. Enjoy your families over the holidays peeps. Z

Z, you'll love taking a Tom with a muzzleloader. I used mine years ago and was lucky enough to bag a nice Tom. I haven't used it since, but this post just might get me to take it out this spring. Its a T-K 2000 Knight 12 gauge. It's pretty good out to 30 yards with Nickel plated #5's. It is a lot of fun, looking through the smoke at a flopping gobbler. I wish you luck with it this year, post some pics!

While it doesn't get much traffic there is a Muzzleloader section on this forum.  Plenty of good info on it.  My TK2000 has so far never failed.  Shooting 2 1/2oz lead pushed by 100 gr of black powder it is good well past 30 yards although 25 yards is it's average shot in the field so far.  The TK recoil is extreme so many would be interested what is the recommended load on your new gun.  Please  post a picture when you do receive it.  Thanks.
