I finally finished doing my cougar mount from this year. I shot it in the eye, so it destroyed the skull for the most part, but I was able to save some of it.

Big Jeremy

I was a little afraid to open this one judging from the thread title...

Looks good, though!

Nice trophy, congrats. Agree with Tom, you did a great job with hide, no signs of repair around left eye socket.

Thank you. It was the first cougar I have ever seen in 45 years of being in the woods and my first time mounting a cougar anything.

Dougas

It was following me down cat road in the timber at 18 steps.

Great looking mount...and great way to display it!

That is top quality work. Really good. You would think that you had mounted dozens of them by the way that turned out.

I am all for following the Law to a pretty extreme point, but once he decided to follow me persistently at a range of 18 or so paces, I would not care if it was open season or not, I would have dropped him. (I am not in any way saying you broke the law, I am referring to myself personally and what the rules might be in my home state which I just honestly do not know - because as you said, it is rare to encounter them, and we don't really even expect to in most places). But to have that big rascal tagging along that close, it had to be a at least a bit unnerving).

Thanks for sharing - that is a beautiful mount that you should be proud of.
