And it came from RIGHT where I figured.

Probably 5-8 birds spouting off up in a little ravine where they have roosted since the beginning of time.  Or, at least, since I started hunting them.

It's on !!!!

I haven't been out to listen but I got a pic of the pair on a gas line this morning. I may try to get out this weekend and see if they are talking.

Heard the first gobble from the Yoder409 Gobbler Observatory (sliding door in the sunroom) this morning !!!

Only heard one......... I know for a fact here are more around here somewhere.  But he sure had a deep, booming voice.  Tweren't no jake.

Next Wednesday here. Gonna be high 20s opening morning, no biggie though. I can't imagine having to wait until late April though we may end up there if some "scientists" have their way.

Ain't supposed to be above about 50 here but 2 days in the next 2 weeks.  Mostly highs in the 30's and 40's.

My son came up this afternoon and says he wants to go opening day. We haven't hunted turkeys together since he was about 12 years old (he's 23 now) so we're both gonna bundle up and give it a go come Wednesday!
