The loss of the successful hatch would be deemed a facet of the study, but when there's no survival at all it doesn't allow much benefit to come from the research anyhow. That's very bad news for sure.

That's a tough report - Oklahoma is doing some research and proving some things we suspected- keep up the great work and timely reports - I enjoy seeing monthly results!! The turkeys need all the help we can give them!!

Yes sir.  As long as dropping the limit for human hunters is the only solution they implement, not much will change.  In Oklahoma or any other state.

Some of the problems with predator control is some states want you to buy a bunch of additional permits to go hunt them. Most people don't want to spend the money on it for something they are only going to do occasionally and then they run the seasons during desirable game seasons so no one bothers. Need some year round seasons on some predator species.

We have a bad raccoon problem around us. But to cut down on their population I would need a fur taker permit and a trapping permit along with my general hunting license I believe. And they raised prices on all licenses and permits a year or so ago. No wonder there is a predator problem when you only have so much time and so much money you can't hunt everything. It's going to be s.s.s. Around here soon, my mom just lost here whole 2nd brood of ducks to coons, so I can only imagine what they are doing to the turkey poults and nests.
