Rosewood

This is kind of an odd question but thought maybe some wood workers or call makers may know
I got a rosewood trumpet turned a year ago that smells and ummm to me tastes like rose when I yelp on it.
Will this subside over time? It seem pretty strong still after over a year

If after a year and its still bad, may never  it will go away completely, its the oil in the wood. You could take a pipe cleaner and coat the inside with ca glue, that should fix it.

Various Rosewood's dust is toxic to a lot of people and causes allergic reactions when inhaled. I'd be careful with that one Chad. A very lightly dipped Q tip in alcohol could be used to clean out the bore of the trumpet and hopefully pull out the dust. Once it evaporates off I would blow through the trumpet to try and blast any remaining dust/debris out of the call.
