How do I make this wing bone call?

I want to make a wing bone call and saw one where the spur and leg skin was over the middle wing bone. Does the leg bone with the skin and put slide over that middle bone or is the skin and spur removed and glued over that middle bone?

I'm under the impression that the spur is part of the leg bone so sleeving it onto the middle bone seems the most logical. Thanks.

I don't know anything about building wingbones, but that is one cool looking call.

It's possible it's sleeved over the bone, but it's also possible the leg itself is serving as the mid section. Either way, once you cut the section of leg you're going to use you're going to have two holes going through it: one is a tendon and one is filled with marrow. The tendon just slides right out. The marrow you can either blow out with an air compressor or poke out with a stick or wire etc. Once both those holes are cleared I imagine they're boring it out the rest of the way with a drill or dremel.

Thanks guys. I asked on another forum and a guy says he used the leg bone as the middle section.

I still have all my rod building supplies of thread, bobbins, epoxy and stuff and hopefully I can make something that looks nice.

That's kinda what I figured, but honestly it might sound mean to sleeve it and if I were going to do that I wouldn't sleeve it over bone, I'd sleeve it over metal.

I have not done a spur call with the skin, but I have done a few without the skin. There's a ridge on the leg bone that needs to be filed down for it to fit inside the bell end (humerus). If I was going to do one with the skin on, I'd strip off about 1/8 to 1/4 inch of the skin on one end, like stripping a wire, and file down that ridge on the bone just enough to slide it into the bell end. Use quick set epoxy to glue the pieces together, I use JB Kwik.

Also that epoxy coat on the call is some fancy rod building epoxy for fishing rods. The call has to be turned on a rotisserie overnight at minimum for it to set up, or it will run and drip off one side of the call.
