Yesterday I had three birds on the roost gobbling up a storm. They seemed spaced out about 75 yards apart from each other. Right around fly down I had a coyote at 40 yards go between me and the closest bird and I thought my hunt was over. A few minutes later a pair came in and I took this one. Skinny 9" beard and 7/8" spurs. Heading back to camp Friday to try and fill the last tag.

Congrats on sticking to game plan, I probably would have shot the yote, ruined the hunt.

Believe it or not, it is not legal to shoot coyotes in NY this time of year. :(

Good job!  Is that striker an Al Holbert (Enticer Turkey Calls) laminated
striker?

lunghit

Thanks everyone. Yes illegal to shoot coyotes until September in NY. But Shoot, shovel and shut up comes to mind lol.

Yes that's Al's striker that I also use with my Silver Thunder Extreme. Sounds great on the Twisted Sister.

One of my personal current interests is nest predators and how a majority of hunters, where legal bait to the extent of chumming coons.  However once they get the predators concentrated they don't control them.
