If the weather holds, it's calling for up to over a quarter of an inch of rain and 20-25 mph winds Saturday, then dropping to 39 degrees Saturday night with a daytime high of 66 on Sunday. In you Floridians experience, will this shut them down? I'm debating whether I should keep my daughters youth hunt planned for these 2 days or reschedule.

So I have spent the last two weekends scouting and have come up empty handed and haven't heard the first gobble . I don't know that the weather change will really cause much of a difference in how they are acting. I has been dry and hot here and when I say hot I mean hot like mid to high 80's so the cool weather may be worth hunting. As long as my granddaughter acts right this week we will be out there even though we have no starting point. So may be a bit jaded.

If Sunday morning is sunny and clear, they should hammer good.

Saturday may or may not be good, but Sunday they should be gobblin good !

Saturday is a wild card, but I will be out just north of 70 for my 15yo last youth hunt weekend.  We will be ready as soon as the rain quits.  I'm hoping the rain is only while the front passes and not a stalled event.

Sunday morning with the cool weather they should hammer it and we will be there (unless he gets one Saturday which will limit him out since he killed one on the south zone opener).

I have had great luck with Florida turkeys in the rain, especially if there are pastures/long stretches of dirt roads. They don't make a good  picture when you shoot them in the rain though lol

Native Floridian here. Saturday will be a wash. But it seems like every N. FL opener always falls on a cold weekend. Id prefer cooler rather than warmer weather. I recall last year opener was in the 30s and 40s and second weekend it was almost 100 degrees. And I hunted 2nd weekend and it was terrible. This sunday should be a good hunt. Good luck to your daughter

I wasn't too far north of 70 on Saturday with my 12 year old daughter. She killed one early and good thing too because the rain came in shortly after 10 am. It was windy at day light, but they still gobbled fairly decent.

My 15 yo killed bird #2 at 8:00, we stayed dry and got to scout a little before the line hit.

I took my son to a local quota hunt he had drawn Saturday, we called a bird right off the roost to us but the bird smelled a rat before he could get a shot off. Once the rain started, we took a ride through the WMA and there were turkeys in almost every decent sized opening. I dont know why, but they love to stand in the middle of the rain, especially a heavy rain/thunderstorm. I though Sunday would be the better day but we only heard a couple on the roost, once they hit the ground we never heard a peep for the rest of the day
