Has anyone come up with a better way to attach a real fan to a full body strutter decoy?

I have the DSD it has a 5/16 plastic bolt sticking out but always end up loosing the washer and nut at some point during the season. Looking for ideas or other options.

I've used a small plastic spring clip like the ones for holding small jointer work when gluing.

Drilled the handle held it on the bolt with a double nut. Holds the fan securely enough but easy to take off to pack it away.

Yes! I have a few methods I have done, the simple version is using Kydex.

You can buy a sheet of it, I took a couple piece of PVC tubing as "mold" and a 2x4. I cut the Kydex in a circle, then once it's heated and pliable I laid it on flat surface and formed it the 2x4 then use the PVC tube to shape the "spring". Once cooled down it will make a molded holder, I mounted to the back of the decoy, you can pull the handle and just drop the fan in. I'll draw up a pic and post it back to this.

Black is Kydex, and Red is PVC & 2x4
