I picked up some Ralph Permar trumpets the other day. 2 first series 1917. One Blackwood prototype and a Cocobolo #2. Also picked up a Blackwood Hex that's #8 with a Silver ferrule. I already have a 1917 but this is my first Hex and I'm really impressed with it.

A quality paddle caller will most run itself.  It just needs someone to carry it around the woods. Yoder409
Over time...they come to learn how little air a good yelper actually requires. ChesterCopperpot

Super pickups. I didn't realize that the hex was so much longer.

The hex is the same length as his .45s. The 1917s are Jordans with regards to lengths and internals.

Those two 1917s are important calls, especially that prototype. The hex is great too. Don't want to know what you had to give for them A baby?!?
