What is a good product to clean shotgun barrels. I've used acetone to get the plastic fouling out. Anything any better??

Shooters choice and Butches bore cleaner works exceptionally well for removing wad material as well as anything else in the barrel

I like bore tech shotgun blend. No ammonia in it so you can leave in barrel over night to soak if you choose. No harsh smell either but it works great. I use it on both my turkey guns and both my deer hunting slug guns.
You can polish your barrel before the season begins but this doesn't need to be done every year. The year you don't just do a thorough deep clean.
Here is the thread that goes over polishing your barrel.

I use a "tornado brush". It removes all fouling and it's quick and easy. No need for all the polishing and such.

Birchwood Casey bore cleaner, is amazing, brush it in, let it set, try not to get it on ur blueing or paint etc that the guns has. But it straight up cleans it, takes everything from powder to bacon grease out of it.

I use denatured alcohol. And I use the plastic brushes verses the copper . I use the brush with a wet patch in front of it followed up by a dry patch and repeat this process over and over until clean. Takes a lot of patches sometimes . I hone my barrel once a season usually before patterning . Having a nice honed/polished barrel makes follow up cleanings much easier . I quite using solvents years ago as I found they didn't cut wad following any better than alcohol not to mention I had to follow up with alcohol anyway to cut the solvent out because it affects patterning IMO. Solvents are better on carbon though in other gun parts . Chrome lined barrels clean up easier than my steel lined 870 barrels .... My forcing come area tends to grab a lot .

Wire brush and the denatured alcohol or acetone has worked in all our target guns.
Tell us just how dead do you want them to be and we will see if we can get that for you.

Butches bore shine is good, however about anything on your bore brush that you attach to a cordless drill really cleans it out!
