I've had this piece of Texas ebony  10+ years.  Micarta stem.  NFS. 
The slate (sold)  is white oak burl from my woodpile.

That is really nice looking Matt, I am pretty familiar with different wood species, but I have never heard of Texas Ebony......would love to find some for a trumpet or two.

It's been a long time since I've seen any one use it.  Had that blank for 10-15 years

I believe it, I sure as heck have never seen any....well, it is unique, I am sure someone will treasure it.
