Texas ebony

This is a test photo post.  Haven't posted a pic here in a good while   
I've had this piece of Texas ebony  10+ years.  Micarta stem.  NFS. 
The slate (sold)  is white oak burl from my woodpile.

That is really nice looking Matt, I am pretty familiar with different wood species, but I have never heard of Texas Ebony......would love to find some for a trumpet or two.
