Does anyone mix in the occasional gobbler cluck and/or yelp in your spring calling?  I understand these are more of a fall call, but curious.  Thanks

A couple jake yelps can turn a hung up bird into a 'strung up bird.'

A few jake yelps can be key to bringing a bird those final few yards and punching the tag. Easy to do on a long box or mini boat sounding like multiple birds.
A quality paddle caller will most run itself.  It just needs someone to carry it around the woods. Yoder409
Over time...they come to learn how little air a good yelper actually requires. ChesterCopperpot

Gobbler calls in the spring can be very desirable or disastrous; one never knows until after the fact.  It is much like trying to get just a little closer to a gobbler on the roost.

Works great on those end of season birds that aren't responding much to hens and are starting to get back together.

I carry an old Quaker Boy "Jake Special" mouth call.  I never use it though! ;) :OGani: LOL

Please advise on when you use it.  Then is it a couple of coarse clucks and one long coarse yelp?
