Frosty and cold this morning.  But the sunrise was awesome coming through the beech.

In a throwback to the days of yore.....I decided to take a Model 21 Winchester 16 gauge this morning.  Got into a gobbler flock on a ridgetop right from the get-go and connected with a double-bearded bird fairly quickly.   1 ounce of #6 lead used to kill 'em in the old days.   Still does.

That property is my pride and joy.  The sunrise this morning was extra spectacular with the frost and the fall foliage.

Only two beards there.  An 11" and a 7"    The strands you're seeing are strays off the 7" beard.
Spurs were right at 1 1/8"
