Dr. Lovett Williams and Col. Tom Kelly, 2 of the best!
« on: September 03, 2021, 12:19:48 AM »
I just finished my full collection of Dr. Lovett Williams books and I'm about 70% on Col. Tom Kelly's works. Let me tell you guys, if you have a passion for some good turkey talk and just good stories in general these are some of the best. I've really enjoyed the more abstract stuff from both of these fellas!

Great books...So much to learn and apply in the field with Lovett's books...more than a host of otherwise entertaining youtube videos can provide.  Tom Kelly's first few books provide a fulfillment that only someone that has read the books can understand, he is a gifted storyteller.  Jim Casada's 'Remembering the Greats' and Joe Hutto's 'Illumination in the Flatwoods' are additional books that I return to regularly.

I really enjoy Mr. Williams books for sure.

I’ll need to check out Jim and Joe’s books. Thanks for the recommendation!

Tom Kelly is a treasure. He is an excellent writer with a wicked sense of humor. Lovett knew more about the wild turkey than anyone arguably. I spent time in camps in Mexico and Guatemala years ago with him. He was a very inquisitive man, funny and down to earth.

I agree that both authors have much to offer. Hutto put out a CD?/VCR about Illumination in the Flatwoods too. His book is very good too

If y’all haven’t read Who’s a Florida Cracker you’re missing out. It was a pretty entertaining read.
