Another Ringed Gidgee blank turned, this is some darker stock I got from Australia, pretty nice looking wood. A little tricky to work with, hard as anything, and the figure will getcha if your not paying close attention

That's nice stuff.  I have a buddy in Australia that makes Scottish smallpipes from this wood.
I almost never see it in the States.

Yeah, I got lucky and met a reliable logger in Australia years ago, he gets really nice stock for me, just got another shipment in recently.
