Federal tss

Last week I came across these federal tss 12 gauge shells in 3 1/2" in dunhams sporting goods store for $64.99.  Went in to same store yesterday, I would imagine they where the same 4 boxes. They raised the price to $ 72.99. Is this what is in store for next years prices on tss?

Was 79.99 at kittery trading post plus 5.5% Maine sales tax so 84.39 out the door folks

Yep,
With all the instability the price of ammo will continue to climb. You are at the mercy of the manufacturers and the middle man not to mention the retail seller. They all want a cut.

The good thing about TSS is that for very little in tooling you can make your own. I use TSS for Turkey, coyote and Bobcat. I can probably streach my shells out five years if needed as I generally only shoot 3 or for Turkey and a dozen for coyote and bobcat.

Biggest issue now is finding components but if you search hard enough they can be found. I would suggest any serious shooter reload as many different calibers as possible to save money and the frustration of finding ammo.

Bass Pro , Orscheln farm , both said ammo manufactures raised 15-30% in prices.

Bass pro is 69.99 now for those 3 1/2".

2 years ago my 12 gauge 3" federal TSS were 37.99, now they are 54.99.

Check Apex or other semi custom loads.

Check Apex or other semi custom loads.

Yeah, Apex is cheaper. Ordered some this week and got 15% off on top of that.

I agree that TSS is over kill in a 12g and even the 20 is over kill with TSS most of the time depending on the choke. I reload for the 20 with TSS and have started pattening with regular full and Modified chokes: patterns are opening up some while still good out to 40 and 50 yards. Still have work to do. Fortunatly I bought all my components awhile back and have no shortage

As far as a 12g is concerned I use LB 4 and 5 with good results. No way will I load TSS for the 12g although originally I had planned too. 80 bucks for a box of 12g TSS? This is one of the huge negatives for the commercialization of all hunting. Huge price increases and pure greed.

Shoot even the federal .410 are 35-40 bucks a box now. CRAZY.  Rodgers is 36.99 for .410. Last I bought there was 21.99.
I was told to expect another 14% increase for August- September.
Agree, I have bought Tss, all stocked up back in 18-19. I'm done with it when I run out if I ever do.

I'm gonna pattern Apex, Foxtrot and maybe Nitro in my new .410.  I have noticed these typically pattern better than Federal TSS in videos and posts I read.  I'm interested in performance regardless of the cost and whether I need the performance.  I don't take long shots, I just like the idea of having more, denser shot in the pattern regardless of range.

The question is how dense is dense enough? Super dense patterns are a good cause to miss even with a scope. There is so much that can be done with TSS that super dense is not really needed. TSS and a more open choke is an excellent combination yet we rarely hear about any one seeking a more open pattern.

I don't disagree with that.  I wrote my last sentence poorly.  TSS allows for more shot in the pattern because of the smaller shot size.  So far as density, I'm referring to the physical properties of tungsten vs lead.  TSS is heavier and harder than lead which I like.
