Great turkey food I'm told. We are due the 17 year brood here next year. Not sure of the group #, will have to  check. There is a 13 year  brood in a region a couple hours away this year. I live in an area that has overlapping broods. We see too many of these things.

Haven't seen or heard the first one here in West Tn, and in a previous post a guy said he hadn't seen any in East Tn either. I guess its confined to Middle Tn, because all of my buddies around Nashville were adapting their turkey hunting stategies to follow the cicadas. I saw a picture of one gobbler killed in middle Tn, and it had over 100 cicadas in its' crawl. Unbelievable. I'm not sure that turkey wasn't already dead from eating himself to death. lol

Our farm in North Eastern NC is covered in them, Was there this weekend and every bird you saw had a smile on their face! The dirt road around our barn looked like you had aerated it with all the holes they've made,

Well it may depend on what you consider Middle TN now.  I am in what I would consider West TN now, Thompsons Station to be exact which is near Franklin and it is COVERED up with them!!
