Anyone else have this addiction?

Fly fishing, especially for steelhead, and tying is not an addiction it is an obsession, at least for me.

I also collect calls, at first I did not really want to say that, for some it seems to have negative connotations, but there is no doubt about it, I have become a collector of calls. I hope to have a  Cow horn call, a Jolly Scratch Tube and some others but next season, that will all depend on how things go in the move.

I never wanted to get into tying, my eyes are bad enough but I wish I had tried fly fishing before my car accident.

I collect nothing, although I have several calls I've bought and don't really use. I'll give them to my one particular grandson who turkey hunts. Monetarily, I've got a Neil Cost box call and a couple trumpets that could garner some money via eBay. But I'll most likely give those to my grandson as well.

Nothing wrong with that and you will give him memories for a lifetime.

I finally took some time and sorted my calls last week, they were tucked away in several different spots. I'm no collector, more a call accumulator.

And I accumulated way too many calls. Got a few nice box calls out on loan to buddies that I didn't even count. Then I realized I had a couple pot calls I didn't find, guess I must have loaned them out but can't remember who or where LOL. 

Time to pare it all back down.

There are probably 20 or more that are not in the picture. When you are forced to start packing for a move you begin to realize how much you have.

Only person I loaned anything to was one of the Deacons in my church, loaned him a box call and a striker. The striker came back in the box but the box call did not. We are not sure if I gave it to him in a box, but it would be odd if I did not because that is the call I keep with me in the truck normally and it is always in it's packaging so it does not get messed up.

Yes sir, I collect Primos mainly anything turkey related. Have some very nice custom calls I've picked up along the way also. It's a way to stay in the turkey frame of mind when I'm not allowed to hunt them. Where did you get those clear striker containers you have if you dont mind sharing?

JHL Strikers AKA Jeff sends them when you buy a striker from him. I am starting to collect Primos DVD's I like the way the old videos were done much more than many new videos I see.
