If you do this, here's what you have to do .
Go to "Settings", then "Privacy Shortcuts", then "See more privacy settings", then "Who can send you friend requests", then turn it to "Everyone".
I had mine set to "Friends of friends" instead of "Everyone". If yours is set to "Friends of friends" also, no one will be able to send you a friend request.

This is me.  I don’t have social or family acquaintances on Facebook.  Just turkey people.  Even then, if you post too much political stuff regardless of party affiliation I’ll not add you as a friend or I’ll remove you as a friend.  That’s why I got rid of my original Facebook account to begin with.
