probabaly should say great because i was turkey hunting! ;D

It is over however and no upgrades boys. I had 2 kills and enjoyed seeing another 3 longbeards go down sitting beside someone. My final Ontario tag unfortunately was the victim of other hunters misses. On my last 2 trips I was with new hunters who were looking for thier first birds. While I put birds at 20 and 25 yds in front of 2 of them thier misses ended those hunts and meant my tag would still need to wait. I am not complaining as I dropped the hammer a couple times and much preferred to see if we could make it happen for my friends.

The other problem was the weather. It seemed every trip I planned to Ohio or here in Ontario was characterized by nasty rains and cold fronts. Again i am not complaining as I was turkey hunting.

My last 3 days I worked 5 birds but only 2 came into range. My buddy was beside me and had asked prior to the hunt about what he should do if he could shoot a bird and there was a second one coming. I told him to just shoot it and not to worry about me and my tag. Well when he had his bird come up the rise to 20 yds I saw the second one from my angle 10 yds beyond the first. He wispered "do you wann go for a double?" I replied "okay I can shoot the other one no problem". Now in my mind I am thinking he will shoot his bird and then I will quickly drop mine in the split second the bird fires up out of strut and doesn't know what just happened. Instead he starts a countdown " ready, one, two...." Well when he does this I am not yet mentally ready to shoot and I adjust to get quickly zeroed in on  my bird. The bird he is on at 20 yds catches my subtle movement and immediatley turns to hightail out of there (pressured gobblers who know the game). The one step it take puts it behind a 6 inch wide maple and he says"wait, wait, wait!" The bird is now on the move and he leans and shoots and misses. I am now looking away with my eyes after telling me to wait and by the time I try and find my bird in my scope he has taken flight and our hunt was over. :-\ Greed! lol. Should of stuck with what I knew was the right thing to do. Hunting with a second year turkey hunter. never hunted with him before and we try and coordinate timing a double in the moment.

So I hang up the vest until I can bust a fmilay flock this fall.

Great to share the year with the Headhunters. Great job to everyone!
