Anybody having problems even hearing turkeys. On perfect mornings their quite go out on the nastiest day possible their gobbling?

Hearing a few, buttt they're getting hammered by every hunter around. Local and OOS. I've never seen so many hunters as I have in the last 2 seasons. I've hunted these woods for 35 years and last 2 years are insane.

I'm having the same problem here in MI. I hunted all this week and never heard a bird rain or shine.

I'm hearing them. Seems only good on rainy days. Ain't hearing much on public. Private is good where I hunt but a creek is a problem

I believe they just like rainy days at times. I have had good success in rainy weather many times. An obstacle such as the creek can definitely make or break a hunt.

Amen to that. 14th straight year to hunt MO as a non-resident and couldn't believe that this spring had as many, if not MORE hunters than last spring!

It was very on/off when I was down there last week.  One day they would gobble good for the 1st hr and again around 11-1 and the next few days, you'd think the state didn't hold a bird.  I felt pretty fortunate to fill one of my permits.

2nd year for heavy hunter pressure on public land. Of course they weren't gobbling much because of it.
I hope that a lot of the rookies got their fill of it and will bail out! I had quite a few walk right over me and ruin it for all of us. Why I don't RNG anymore, especially on public land. I prefer to do my scouting early before the season starts and get in their back yards and wait til they are ready to fly down and talk them in. But that didn't even work as planned. Had two guys strolling thru the woods talking like they were on a street corner until I stood up! Couldn't even talk with them I was so upset. Pitiful.
Moved to the farm and they weren't really talking much there, but did have one sneak in on me just as I had to stretch my sore butt muscles and he was gone! They are masters at hide and sneak!
Don't think I'm gonna waste my time on public ground anymore even tho I used to have great success on a few areas.

I hope a lot get their fill. It get frustrating when you put the time in on woods I live nearby only to be outnumbered by the spring army. Same here with the folks walking around you, even after you talk to them, they think just because they paid for that tag they can hunt right next to you. I have nothing against OOS hunters but I can tell ya in the southern part of Mo they are the rudest hunters I've experienced in my 51 years of being on this earth. I'm sure a lot of folks experience this as well.  But hey that's turkey hunting.

Only put five days in Missouri this year been primarily in Kansas and I or buddies have killed on three and missed on another.

Every morning I can recall heavy roost gobbling, and particular birds would stay gobbling throughout the course of the day. There was one I probably should've went a killed as he gobbled all dang morning in my buddies back field and around noon we heard some shots from their back field like the neighbor snuck over and shot him likely.

Managed to fill both my MO tags. One on private in Texas county, one on public in Monroe county. Took a lot of work, and this springs inconsistent weather has led to inconsistent gobbling/activity imo. Lot's of hunters on public, had to hunt accordingly. Soft calling, lots of scouting to know where they want to be. Public tom was a good one.

Very tough, spent more time getting a shot at 2 birds this spring than the last three combined!  Decent roost gobbling but virtually nothing on the ground.

Watched a guy poach one from the road with a .22, I imagine he is getting a visit from the warden by now!

People underestimated the power of looking cool on YouTube.

Killed my two in short order. One opening week and the other this week when I went back. Hunted 3 days. However my god there are people EVERYWHERE now. Use to hunt a small Ca and maybe see 1-2 trucks. Now there a hunter per 100-200 acres it seems. Almost all new guys who saw it on pinhoti or THP when you talk to them.

I'm now getting great joy out of sending all the newbie social media hunters home mad that someone else out hunted them and killed their bird.

These guys only hunt for fame and attention from ppl they don't know! Take away social media for them to post on and a huge portion wouldn't even like hunting anymore

It's why you are seeing a huge decrease in forum posting from the guys who been at it a while and truly love what turkey hunting was just a hand full of years ago! People are waking up and realizing what's happening.
