Just curious what the best pattern you've ever shot(numbers wise, for those of you that count holes in a 10" circle, 40 yards) was  with the old Federal heavyweight 3" 1 7/8oz #7s. I've had a fairly hard time getting it to shoot good out of any of my guns, but have a large stockpile of it, so was determined to find a good combo. I recently picked up a Winchester 1300 turkey, and with a Carlson longbeard xr choke, I'm consistently getting patterns in the low 190s at a measured 40 yards. I'm incredibly happy with that, and the evenness of the pattern as well. I'm working on getting a couple pics up for you guys to see. I also shot my best pattern ever out of the same gun and choke combo with the Federal 3" #9 TSS. It gave me 365 holes. Now I just have to wait 3 weeks for our season to start!

Thats a really good number for the HWT 7s. The 3" is only 1 5/8oz. The 3.5" is the  1 7/8oz. load.

When you say you have a large stockpile of it, just how much exactly do ya have?

Somewhere between 2 and 3 cases, haven't counted it all exactly. Don't know how many loose boxes I had, and picked up 2 cases last year.

I am. Only get around 150 in my REM 11-87s and my BPS, No matter the choke ! Also, there seems to always be holes in the patterns, will all choke/gun combos.

Love these loads. Pattern very evenly. Shame they discontinued them. This is out of my Super Black Eagle 1 with a Truelock Flight Control Wad Heavyweight #7 choke tube at 35 yards. Solid pattern. Be safe...

Great looking gun. I too have an SBE 1 with the wood stock. Yours is the only other one I've seen.

When I hunted with the Federal heavyweight #7's I was getting 170-180 with the 3" and 210-220 with the 3.5"  This was through one of George  Truelock's chokes designed for the heavyweights.
Don't gobble at me...

Thanks, hold on to yours, they are up in value now. For some reason, the wood stocks are sought after. Be safe...

Best pattern I've ever seen was a Undertaker HD choke in the orginal SBE1. Think it's .660 non ported and was in the 260s" this was a 3.5 #7 federal heavyweight. 40yds
