Benelli SBE1 Choke Suggestion for TSS 9's
« on: March 29, 2021, 01:51:44 PM »
Hey All,

Looking to see if anyone has a choke suggestion for TSS 9 for my Benelli SBE 1 12 gauge.  After doing some research a lot have suggested to stay in the .675 range.  I am not looking for a pattern with a real hot core, and would like to keep it a bit more open for hunting.  Any choke suggestions in that range?

I have looked at the Carlson Extended tube for $42.50 in a .675 below, but looking for a few others.  Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

My buddy has an SBE I. I loaded him some 1.75 oz TSS 8.5s (553 total pellets). The factory turkey tube that came with the gun (.665 IIRC) did 189/10, so not a super hot core with decent spread (don't recall the 10-20 numbers). That would be another inexpensive option if you can find one.

Pure Gold makes a real good choke for Heavyweight and TSS. It is called Tempest. It comes in .670. I have one for my SBE 1. I have not tried TSS 9 due to it being illegal in the states I hunt, but it shoots Heavyweight Federal #6 and #7 great. The choke is non-ported, thus it handles both the old flight control as well as the new flex wads. It is a fine choke, maybe you can contact them and inquire about the TSS #9. They are a great company. Good luck....

A LOT to do with the brand tss.    It can go from 660 to 670 most the time now if you looking for a hunter friendly pattern add .010 to the number.

I shoot a Sumtoy .675 with the Nitro 2 and 5/8 oz 8x9 TSS. Forgiving up close but still deadly way down range.

I use the Carlson 640 TSS Choke. It puts 400 in 10" and near 300 in 20" with Apex 3.5" 9's
