Tennessee turkey season is coming up and I can't make my mind up which week of season i want to take off work. I have the option to take either the first or second week of season iff giving me 9 straight days to hunt. Last year we done really well on opening week. Years before we seem to do well the second or third week. For you tennessee hunters, which week of season would you take off work to hunt?

I would take off the whole season, but i'm retired .. LOL... either week in my opinion, just depends on how they are acting before season opens.. but i don't think you can go wrong with first or second week...

Last year i got all but three days of season off because of covid and it was a dream. Hunting every day and getting paid. This year I'm not so fortunate, have to go with a week this year. I was thinking the same thing as tou.

If you can wait until last minute with work I would hunt the weather!

I wish i could. They like to have a couple weeks to a month notice if you're taking a whole week off. Just my luck lol

If you wait in Tennessee for the weather to be good to go turkey hunting the season may be over before you ever go. Tenn weather for turkey hunting is not just the best, it can be either cold, windy, rain or fog to deal with, pretty days in April are hard to come by.. The worst of all the conditions is the winds in early April..

You can't tell around here from year to year. If it's rainy and cold later into the spring, I think it slows em down and the later week would be better. If it warms up earlier in the spring and is less rainy, I think they get the urge earlier so the first week would be just as good. Flip your coin or consult your genie in the lamp, lol. Like Greg Massey said....I retired in 2020, so the season for 2021 is looking good. I'll hunt the weather....

Cut N Run

I'll probably be working until they put me in the ground...

My favorite week of the season is the third week.  There aren't quite as many people in the woods, many hens have gone to nest, and gobblers will cruise around looking for hens mid-mornings.  If they have a favored strut zone, you can wait until he leaves & either try to call him back, or get there ahead of him over the next few days.

Have fun & good luck whatever you go with.
