The bill is currently going through the NM legislature and is expected to pass. Still, as you point out, half of NM is PRIVATE land, so trappers will still have plenty of opportunity to do so,...and fortunately, furbearers don't know where the property boundaries are...

Leased private land by the state.Understand the state leasing private land for public hunting and think it is good that the state agencies are able to work with private landowners to provide public access. Which is good, but what happens if the lease is not renewed?
