I'm new to the forum here.  How common is it to harvest  a gobbler with no bars on wings.  Looks like a buzzard wing.  I trying to post a pic not sure if it will pan out.

What kind of turkey?

If we're talking full blown melanistic bird, I'd say very rare and super cool. Think the rates are in the one in thousands, maybe even one in ten thousand or so, for that full blown black phase in easterns.

Thanks I will try and post a picture if I can figure out how to.

Same area this came from occasionally produces toms that have a few solid black primaries on their wings.

Mount that sucker

Turkeytider

Yep, that's worth a full body mount IMO. Interesting how different areas in the same state can produce numbers of birds with varying coloration and barring in feathers. Also, some areas will produce more multi bearded birds. Genetic differences in local populations.

For sure a mounter, coolest looking gobbler I have ever seen, very unique....congrats...

I've seen quite a few gobblers get killed over the last 50 plus years.   I can recall one that had two solid black primaries on one side.  I killed it in Barbour county Alabama.   And I saw a buddy of mine kill one around Richland GA that had one black primary.   Never seen in person anything that resembled what you have there.   Congrats!

Man! I hope that bird is a full body mount somewhere! It's the coolest thing I've seen.
