Apex #9s with IC .555 at 40yd. I was getting terrible results with a clean barrel until i called apex and they told me some guns shoot better dirty. Shot several rounds of bird shot through it and the difference was amazing. ive now got a red dot on it to zero my gun with the pattern.

That's strange how that works, my son , my hunting partner and I all have 21" barreled 870's, both of their guns shoot better dirty, mine wants to be squeaky clean.

Yea i was frustrated to say the least, shooting $10 apex shells trying to figure this out and i had friends shooting the same setup getting amazing results. After i called apex and he told me to try it dirty, the pattern was like night and day.
