It is all over for the year.

It is done for another year >:(but it was a good one.  Other than Neal, most people I talked to had a hard spring with fewer birds seen or heard.  My goal for the year was met so I am very happy.  I wanted to have fun, take a kid hunting, hunt with my dad and wife, and see a bird drop.  Well I took two kids out and had birds at 10 yards for both, but no toms.  Dad and I hunted 3 mornings and he got a nice 3 year old.  I got a nice bird on my own, and my wife got her first long beard after a good sneak on the flock.  After my wife's season my world got busy with job interviews and being told we have 30 days to move due to the house selling.  I did eat one tag because the guys I was going to hunt with in a different zone backed out.  This week, I hunted once due to work and this morning, I crashed hard when I saw lightning and heard thunder.  So we had 3 tags and got 3 birds.  My two extra tags did not get filled, but I did not hunt hard at all.  The kids I took saw birds and had fun.  I learned a lot and got my 870SM ready for a long time and now I know what calls I would like to invest in to replace the calls I made that don't sound the greatest.  Now it is time to go fishing!!!

Congrats on a great year.....It did seem like a lot of guys here in WI had a hard year. The farm I hunt on was loaded with birds this year and I filled all 4 of my tags well some guys that I know that hunt just down the road couldnt find a bird to save their life.

Carp, that was the same thing here.  A few of my better spots still had a few birds but my second rate places from the last few years did not have any birds on them.  I hope we get a good hatch.
