New Hampshire Trip
« on: February 04, 2021, 07:33:12 PM »
Hey guys I’m planning a trip in mid May to hunt public land in New Hampshire and I’m hoping to get some guidance. I have two options to base out of. Concord or Sqaum Lake. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Plenty of open land and birds around both of those areas. Where are you coming from?

Thanks. Coming from Virginia. Think I’ve decided to base out of Tamworth. May head back to the southern part of the state at some point.

I haven’t turkey hunted Tamworth but it should be a decent area with a good mix of hardwoods not a lot of ag land or fields over that way. There are some good areas west of Tamworth check out Center Sandwich over toward Meredith. You’ll be close to J2 as well which has a 2 bird limit vs the 1 bird limit in F / J1 (Tamworth area). I live in Gilmanton which is in J2. Check out the harvest data it will give you a good idea where guys have the best luck: https://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/hunting/documents/2019-harvest-summary.pdf
