I'm thinking of getting more snakewood strikers.  I have one currently and it seems to be one of the most consistent strikers I own.  I know they're pricey.  Who do you recommend to contact that makes a good one?

Clay Townsend.

Are you willing to step out of the boat as Peter did?  Think about it, he wouldn't have walked on water without stepping out of the boat!

If you haven't tried Jeff's (JLH) Frogwood (Birch Laminate) strikers, I highly recommend you give them a try.  Those strikers will bring out the best in any call.

This is a easy answer to your quuestion.. Clay Townsend persimmon snakewood striker , is just AWESOME..

Add Derek Fowler to the list. He makes a fine 2 piece snakewood striker. All the other ones are also winners!

Thanks for all the comments.  I actually sent Clay Townsend a message on Facebook before I read the comments on my post ;)  I've got several strikers from JLH and Derrick Stucky but wasn't sure how much they did with snakewood.  I saw some nice ones on John Sinclair's website.  I see Fred Cox's advertised on Midwest's website.  I really only want one or two of these because of $$$.  I have several other woods and laminated ones from most of the folks you mentioned.  Just not snakewood.  The one I have is from Neal Herman.

Have strikers from all of the guys you've mentioned. Personally, I don't think snakewood strikers sound any better than dymondwood or tulipwood strikers. John Sinclair would also tell you that actually.

More than anything, I think the shape of the striker tips are gona work for your hand better than others. Me personally, I play Clay's striker super well

Well I ordered one from Clay.  I got the 2 piece snakewood/mud cured orange.  Looked cool to me.  Still looking around for another one though.

The one I have from JLH is outstanding - not gonna get out of my striker case in my lifetime!
