Well he sure isn't anything to brag about, but with 65 minutes left in my 2nd 5-day season, when 8 hens and this guy came scurrying into view from over my right shoulder and going bye-bye fast, it was gun up, click, and boom.  The bummer is the long beard I was expecting to show was chasing them all and popped into the picture as soon as I looked up from the red dot.

I really wanted my 20th bird to be my personal best, but as it turned out it was my smallest to date and ironically the one I invested the most time and effort into taking. Humbled, but not daunted and looking ahead to the  2011 Fall season.

Cool. Way to go. He beats tag soup.

Let me add my congratulations!  I am eating tag soup this season and would have been proud to nail that turkey.  I hope we get squaded up again next year - I turkey hunted harder this season than I ever have (to some extent because of this contest as motivation), but mostly enjoyed getting to know the other team members via their posts on our team site.  Thanks to all who made this a great team and a memorable season!
"I admire a good turkey hunter chiefly because such a man displays qualities that we usually associate with pioneer America-patience, enthusiasm, woodcraft, game sense, and a quiet hardihood undaunted by rain, by cold, by long tough miles, by disappointment."
