I'm not sure what is going on either. I hunted Friday in east Tennessee and I had two birds gobble all day. One wouldn't come to a call at all, and the other got intercepted by a hen about 50 to 60 yards in front of me. They didn't start gobbling to later in the morning, the hot one started at 10:30. I read an article this weekend were a turkey biologist said that turkey have a tendency to not gobble much during unusually warm springs. That seems to be holding true for the area that I'm in. It has been a much warmer spring than usual with a lot wind. It's been a wet and stormy one also. Who knows? All I know is that I'll be back out there the first chance I get.
