Slop in Picatinny rail

Hey guys. I bought a vortex venom and a egw rail for my sbe2. I notice slop in the recoil lugs front to back. I've read that a weaver rail will not have slop but I like the fact that the egw sets the sight a little higher. Is the slop ok? Or will it jar loose? Thanks

I wouldn't want any slop. Just stands to reason that it'll move. Maybe you could shim it. I suppose soda can aluminum would work or maybe shim material from somebody like Brownell's.

By "slop", do you mean you can wiggle the sight back and forth a little bit or do you mean it feels like it could jump off the mount if you shot it?  Because tolerances between sights, mounts and bases all can differ, you SHOULD have some slight movement.  Just keep the sight pushed forward against the rail cuts (rearward recoil) and tighten her down.
