Use a big piece of paper, like 30x30 or so.  Wrapping paper works well as does mailing paper.

Could even use a piece of Christmas wrapping paper turned around backwards so the colors don't show, or back side of a desk calendar in a pinch

Personal limit is 100 but that's me. Don't want to see gaps larger than an inch. Good luck and post the pics.
