Jay I think I found the are that bird was in. I relook at my map and I found a saddle by the house thats up there. I know that bird had to be by that old house, the roost I found is about 100 to 200 yards from there. And it makes sense that we couldnt hear him. The creek was flowing pretty good and it was hard to hear anything from there. I came up with a plan to get in there and hunt this bird. Hopefully I get him on wen. or thurs.

:icon_thumright: That's what makes Turkey hunting fun for me. Figuring out where they are at, and coming up with a game plan for a successful hunt. A lot of time our hunt is actually a scouting trip. Figure out where he's at, and if he doesn't come in your direction, make a good estimate where he went. A lot of times they'll wander away with the Hens after breeding, coming out of roost. Next time set up before daylight on that route, and you will greatly increase your chances of a score. Remember a lot of Toms are shot late morning after the Hens leave, and your left as the next canidate. If you feel you are in his proximity, hang tight.

Ya. My new plan is to get there before sun up and sit on a hill between the roost and the saddle. So we can listen for him to sound off and see if he was in that gully or up on the hill in the saddle. So we'll see what happens and maybe I can bring that turkey home. I have a bone to pick with this sneaky creature and I want him bad now. I told my buddy that Im killing that dang bird wen. or thrus. for sure since I figured that area out a bit.

It is my fault on not killing that bird since I didnt do much scouting on the lay of the land.
