I polished the barrel on my 835 last night. Hope I can see a difference on paper this weekend. It's not as bright as some of the pic's I've seen here, but its better then it was before I started. Come on 300.

Good Luck!  Hopefully you will break the 300 mark you have been look for. :anim_25:

Here are my turkey guns. Starting at the top is a benelli sbe I just got it a couple months ago in a trade Its got a 665 Indian creek choke in it. The next gun is a benelli nova  12 ga pump. It works good with a .665 ic choke too  The third gun is a Remington  870 am. It likes the.665 ic chokes too. All three of these guns pattern well with h13 #7. The last gun is a charles daly  20 ga. That I have tinkered with but I can't get it to pattern well, so it's never been took to the woods  My gun this season is going to be the benelli sbe, hopefully I can kill a bird with that gun this season.

I know someone who has a semi charles daley in 20 ga.  He uses an undertaker choke and Hevi 3" 7s.  I think he is getting around 120-130 at 40 yards in the 10".

Well I am sticking with my set up.  Shot the 835 yesterday at around 55 degrees.  Using the Star Dot and Hevi 3.5 2.25 oz. 6s.  Got 207 in the circle.  The ole girl is ready to hunt.  My POI is a little off of my POA but that is going to be fixed in a couple weekends and she will be ready to make the run to Mississippi.  Bought the ole girl after last season and and ready to get some blood on her.  Here is the picture of the pattern (I love how this pattern looks with how even and consistant it is):

Mine really like the same load thru the IC .675. I think your better off with the 6's than the MB considering the numbers are similar. I really should have stayed with that load, but had to go for the big numbers. It carries well and has some wiggle room up close. I crushed one last year inside of 20 yards with them.

I would say you are done.  That is the kind of pattern I like. nice and evenly spread.  plenty of shot dispursement in case he moves his head.  Bring that pattern to the left and up a little and all he'll do is flop!

just haven't quite reached the numbers I wanted to......so Donald twisted my arm until I bought this choke.....dang it!  I hate when peer pressure gets you!!

davisd9

LOL, well I can say that I did not have to twist too hard.

Truth be told I think you would have had a harder time talking me out of it than talking me into it   :TooFunny:
