Just purchased an sa20 tactical turkey. Shot a couple of boxes through it. It would not eject any light loads. I'm wondering if they beefed up the piston in the newer guns. Shot high brass and heavier loads fine. It didn't eject my hand loads 30 feet like another one of my 20s. Maybe this is indicative of some improvements to handle heavy loads on Mossberg's part. Time will tell.

Did you clean the gun prior to shooting?  It comes with some nasty cosmoline type anti corrosion grease, turns gummy pretty quick.

It may never shoot 3/4 oz loads but should shoot 7/8th.

I did clean it before I shot it. These were 7/8oz loads but I'm not concerned that they wouldn't eject. I'll never use it for anything but turkey. Just hypothesizing as to whether they are building the turkey guns a little heavier now for the heavier loads.

Is this specific to gas operated guns?  What about inertia guns?  There are a few 12 ga. Loads over 2 ounces.  I have been shooting 1 5/8 hand loads out of my Weatherby element with out any issue (yet) .

Mostly gas gun issue.
