Sad thing is , nothing will change with that. Government will not step in as farming takes precidence over the wild turkey. Very very unfortionate.
Yes, I would love to see more certifed organic farms myself, but that brings problems with it when it comes to regulation to be certified. I think the land has to be confirmed not to have had any chemicals on it for the food on it to be certified organic I think 7 years is what I have heard. Many can't let their land sit that long without producing some kind of crop.
I think I remember my brother saying 3 years..
I would imagine alot more farm animals would die early due to not being able to use antibiotics etc,but maybe they have organic remedies??
They dealt with them for centuries without chemicals, no reason we still can't, though I do think much of that has become a forgotten art form.

Too many ppl now. WE are overpopulated basically. Need fast growing, long lasting, maxed out food supplies to keep up.

I just love people that say the overpopulated thing, let me drop you off in the middle of Manitoba and and have you walk home and then tell me again how we are over populated. We have more than enough to feed people, we in North America alone throw out enough to feed most of the world if not all of it. Go behind a McDonald's at the end of the night and see how much they throw in the trash, it is nauseating.

The unfortunate fact is that if we all went to "organic" farming, the price of common inexpensive foods would go through the roof. And total crop yields would drop much beyond what the average optimistic activists believe. Trust me. Most of us don't use pesticides out of greed. We use them to get a good enough yield and return to continue farming. I also am in "the loop" enough to know that the term "organic" is the most misused, mislabeled, and lied about term in consumer goods today. I actually listened to a big wig from a nationally known organic chicken producer tell a group touring one of there farms that even the shavings in the chicken house were from virgin forests that were never touched by man! Trust me,  they're not!  I'm not saying I want to cause harm to make my money. Trust me, it's hard enough without that on my head yet. I'm saying the unfortunate fact is things change and not always for the good. There is a record amount of wildlife being hit on the roads. No one seems to be calling for a ban on cars. Why? Because the fact is most people could not function without one. The same way most cannot function without an affordable food made possible by modern farming practices. I'm not saying that I don't agree at all that there are some issues. But until you have a viable, researched, and unbiased solution, please don't hate us for trying to make a living( and maybe feed a few people in the process)

I don't know if you saw this comment or not, but it says the same thing you are saying. I put the comments that are most important to what you are saying in [] here.

"You're welcome.

Yea the thing is many of these things are not even needed to grow stuff, it is largely greed as to why the stuff is still being used. [Also many farmers feel forced into or the need to use this stuff for a larger yield so they can stay afloat and that is a pity.]

Nothing but respect for farmers and especially milk farmers Dairymen or whatever you want to call them because they can't even take a vacation many times because nobody can cover for them and the truth is there are not nearly as many people that know how to cover for them as there was when I was young. [They feel the pressure to use this crap and others too, maybe more so than other farmers.]

I try to eat as organic as I can but it is so incredibly expensive and that is one of the reasons I hunt, one deer can feed me for quite some time, months even. A turkey for close to a week if I do it right. Rabbit a day or two but all these animals are getting contaminated with who knows what and in many cases some of this stuff is outlawed in most large countries but not here which is scary.
