Favorite wood combos ?

Short box: bloodwood over cherry, purpleheart over just about any cedar, walnut over poplar, purpleheart over walnut. I'm not super picky apparently because these all sound very turkey but the bloodwood over cherry will probably see the most use this year. Not enough experience with long boxes because I've only got one so I won't weigh in there just yet.

SHORT BOX

     All walnut
     Persimmon over mineral stained poplar
     All cherry

    PADDLE CALL

    Cedar over walnut
    Cedar over butternut
    Osage over butternut

   MINI BOAT

   Persimmon over chestnut
   All cedar

Its been a long time since I made a box call, but my favorite combination is old growth Alaskan yellow cedar for the box with a zebrawood paddle. A close second is all walnut
