Can a turkey whine be done on a friction call? And if so how or can someone post a video doing this? Thanks

cjordan

if you're talking about a kee kee, the way I do it is by getting right on the edge of the call where the playing surface meets the pot it self, and use a little more pressure than normal. Then work the striker around the edge. Most of my calls I can get somewhere between 1/4"-1-2" off the edge but much more than that and it Starts to mellow out to much for a kee kee. I'll try to post a video.

About the 55 second mark is a kee kee, you'll see how he goes parlell with the pot if that's what you're talking about with a wine.

To make a good turkey wine you really have to boil them dow for a while and who has time for that?? Jk

I believe he's talking about the nasally whistle that often accompanies purring and light clucking of a content hen. I only do that on a mouth call.

Easier for me on a box call or mouth call.  Can be done on a pot but may take some practice.  I do it similar to the start of Kee Kee but slow it down and have a tight grip on the striker.

The whine is a great call.  I call it "poison".
