I'm a camera junkie and I set cameras at all different heights depending on what critter I want to capture, what the camera is trained on and sometimes to avoid theives. Just get at critter height in front of your camera and see if it's pointing where you want. Shim the back to get what you want. I have put cams 12' above mineral sites to get different perspectives of deer and to keep theives from finding it easy. For turkeys, I put them pretty low. 18" maybe, I like seeing spurs...
