Did some patterning with my Mossberg 835....I shot a 5 round box of 3rd Degree and 10 rounds of LB xr....needless to say my shoulder hurtin . I'll be in the woods for the Georgia Turkey opener in the morning anyhoot. But I will look into getting a leadsled for sure

The leadsled makes patterning a breeze! I shot 6 lb xr today through it and never felt a thing! Plus if the pattern is not in line with your POA then you know it's the gun and not you.

I know an old timer who put a slip-on recoil pad over the recoil pad on the butt stock of his 11-87 to help tame down turkey loads. It changes the length of pull and the eye relief on the scope a little, but it really absorbs felt recoil.
