After a few years of debating on whether to try a Fastfire I ordered a new FF3 last week. It came in yesterday and I went to mount it up this morning - one of the holes in the base is completely stripped. It never would even grab and the metal all came out on the screw.

What stinks is I took off a proven scope that has worked for years and was already dialed in. Luckily I'm not turkey gun poor, but I wanted to have this setup ready for next weekend. I've already sent a PM to Burris Optics on here and will call the factory tomorrow as a back up. From the sounds of all of the feedback here, I'm sure they'll make it right and am not worried about that, but it still stinks. From a little research, this doesn't seem to be uncommon, but it's usually from over tightening. I never even had a chance to tighten this one.

Anybody else have this issue?

UPDATE: I called Burris this morning and they've got me a new picatinny mount going out 2-Day shipping, so I'll have it on Wednesday. Great customer service - no questions asked. Hoping I don't have the same issue with this one. Nice to see that kind of service these days.

Awesome customer service, even when the problem is no fault of their own.  They saved me from a bad situation caused by my former gunsmith ...
