After a few years of debating on whether to try a Fastfire I ordered a new FF3 last week. It came in yesterday and I went to mount it up this morning - one of the holes in the base is completely stripped. It never would even grab and the metal all came out on the screw.
What stinks is I took off a proven scope that has worked for years and was already dialed in. Luckily I'm not turkey gun poor, but I wanted to have this setup ready for next weekend. I've already sent a PM to Burris Optics on here and will call the factory tomorrow as a back up. From the sounds of all of the feedback here, I'm sure they'll make it right and am not worried about that, but it still stinks. From a little research, this doesn't seem to be uncommon, but it's usually from over tightening. I never even had a chance to tighten this one.
Anybody else have this issue?
