Fastfire 3 Hitting Low No More Adjustment Frustrated

I'm having the same issue with my combo (SBE II & FF3). I have the FF3 on a picatinny protector mount sitting on a Weaver multi slot base.
I haven't patterned the gun yet, but put a 12 gauge laser in the breech and at 30yds. I'm about 4-6 inches low.
I shimmed the base and put thread locker on the mounting screws. It seems solid, but just wish I didn't have to shim the base that way.

Is this a common problem with the FF's?? I am fixin to drop a good bit of money on everything and would hate to have this kind of trouble with the sight.  Mine is a SBE1, 336 mount being installed by Rob Roberts, protector, and a FF3. Anybody else using this same combo? If so how is it working for you?

Thanks

I'm sure everyone here would agree that I'm some kinda nut for going through 4 different bases to get one that didn't need to be shimmed so the FF III dot could be adjusted low enough for correct elevation. I went through the Weaver 93A, Weaver multi slot, Burris 336 (hole pattern didn't work out), and ended up with the Warne 2 pc. steel base set. I used the rear base only and not only is it a clean looking setup, but I was able to get my elevation good out to 30yds. with a shotgun shell laser, and I've got more adjustment left if I need to adjust lower to get zero'd at 40yds., but I would guess I will need to raise the FF III dot a touch higher at 40 and that has never been the problem.
The only thing I had to alter or modify a little was the slot. It was just a little tight and the picatinny protector mount wouldn't sit all the way down without a tiny bit of grinding from the dremel.
I remember Rob Roberts told me in an email that he uses Warne bases when he does a setup on the SBE II. Maybe he had the same issues I've had with the other bases?
Anyway, I'm finally feeling good about my FF III setup since I found a base that I didn't have to shim up at the rear! Thanks Warne :thanks:
