Turkeyman

Several times during spring turkey season I've come upon newborn fawns. I never bother them; knowing mom's about somewhere. In a couple instances when I found them in fields I saw the mother standing off a ways at the edge of the woods looking at me.

I will tell yall that 99% of abandoned fawns are NOT abandoned.

x2, only the percentage might be higher.  ;)

I have run in to a lot of new born fawns when out training our Brittany. The only time she ever really new they were there is if she saw them. She would get within a couple feet of them and still had no clue that they were there. She had gotten really close to the one in the pic and kept right on going but I haven't seen her take interest in any deer.

Mom has been bedding up behind the house so I get to see her with the 2 young ones every once in a while. They seem to be doing just fine.
