Post season gear assessment/ recommendation

Like many, it depends on how I plan to hunt.  If I have a lot of hiking and/or frequent movement, I use my Alps Longspur vest (no seat) and a Glenda Green seat cushion for ease of access and to keep weight down.  If I know I am going to be in one place for a while, I like my Glenda Green satchel and my turkey lounger.

This year I hunted with the Sitka turkey tool belt and occasionally a Cabela's gobbler chair. That rig worked great for me.

I got a deal on an Alpz Grand Slam Lounger but never hunted with it. I'll give that a shot next year.

Still using a Bucklick Creek vest which is $99 at Bass Pro/Cabelas. Hunting around the country, sometimes there isn't a good tree to set up on. This has a stadium seat type back and has pockets for everything.I have good back support anywhere.

The vest itself isn't that heavy.

I would reinforce the top with heavy weight fishing line as the plastic struts of the stadium seat may extrude over time.

I started with a Bucklick Creek many years ago. Wasn't until I blew out the stitching that I decided to eat weren't for me.

My advice with any vest purchase is get the lightest one, of the ones you like

I have like my Cabela's tactical tatr 2, it's good for moving a lot and has a nice cushion. I also have a Cabela's low profile chair I will use if I plan on staying in one place.

x2. Both have been on hunts where I only walked 100yards and then others where it was 7+ miles a day. I did modify my chair strap to be thrown across my back at an angle and it seems to be less noticeable.
