2 3/4 in a Mossberg 835

I shot my 835 one time with Apex TSS 3 inch 9 shot. Broke a molar and loosened two other teeth. I have no idea if a 2 3/4 shell would work as I'll never shoot another 835. I'm an old wuss.

I only shoot 2 3/4 out of the ol 835 any more. It's killed them stone dead up to and including 40.

My ex gf was 5'0 110 pounds and shot 3 1/2" buckshot out of my 835 Turkey Special with the 21" barrel. I even let her put a pink sling on it. She won quite a few $5 bets with new macho guys at deer camp over "shooting a 3 1/2" ?

Dog gone it.  Maybe that's why she is your "Ex gf".  Those 835's kick no matter what.  Did find in one that the 3" patterned better than 3 1/2".

I've had 2 835's. First one was the older version with the ribbed pump.  Sold it and about 2012 bought another.  The stock angle had less drop at heel and had a ported barrel.  3.5's were less abusive but more than I wanted.  When Federals 3", 1.75oz tss came out life got much better with the 835.  I have some Apex 2.25oz loads but haven't tried them yet.  I'm sure the heavier payload will rock more no doubt.
